I followed this advice, but the real problem was that a perl module needed to be installed for the particular webmin module that I had installed.

I now have this code:

eval 'use Data::FormValidator;';
if ($@) {
 print "Content-type: text/html\n\nPlease install module Data::FormValidator\n";
 exit 0;

I agree that from what I have been told the people running our mail systems don't have much clue. If I thought it would do any good I'd fight more to keep IMAP but apparently we just have under 4% of the users accessing mail via IMAP.

Instead I will use my energy to figure out a way to route around this problem. :-)

Agreed.

Another alternative is that this could be handled via NAT at the VERY least. Granted, that would be the dirt-cheap no-frills option, but it exists.

Hate to jump to conclusions, but, it sounds like whoever is in charge there doesn't know how to properly setup load balancing. 50 IP addresses on the DMZ? That is .. a long stretch.

I too was puzzled by the the statement about how weak 'S' is....as I said to date I haven't hear any more info on it.

Yes OWA is enabled so one can use Outlook or Entourage outside of the office. Of course that is using the same 'S' that IMAPS would be using. And that is still restricting employees to only using clients that work with OWA, which limits the ability to use the IMAP client on most non-Windows Mobile Phones (or iPhones). Not very empowering for a mobile workforce.

"the 'S' is pretty darned weak" ... what the hell? They have a problem with TLS-based security systems? I'm genuinely curious what answer they have for why IMAPS is an insecure protocol.

Since they have OWA enabled for Exchange, did they at least enable RPC-over-HTTPS, so that employees can use a full Outlook client from home?

@Paul: And apparently the per album upgrade cost to go DRM-free is $3.00. I just need to contain my disdain for iTMS a bit more.
